User opinions of Acer Aspire 7730 - Intel Core 2 Duo

For first months I was suprised about its performance, but when guarantee was over batery was able to work highest for 2 min, my legs were friting, playing games it started to switch off many times a hour because of overheating. Body was cracked from right side, panels under computer were coming off with all bolts and ruber legs under it was lost halping the heat to demage computer.
HDD is too slow, processor and graphics card are slower than they could be and produce too much heat from nothing.
And there where much more problems, but it will take all day to write them all.

The performance is really bad.

Initially, I identified that Acer Bloatware running in the background took up alot of processing power. At the time I noticed that my processor was continuously running at 50% or more and frequently went up to 99%.

After uninstalling or switching off the bloatware, performance off course improved. But was still far below what I expected. My girlfriend's 5 year old system is alot faster and alot more stable.

The different drivers continuously crash. All the different systems can just not work well together. The Synaptics Touchpad crashes frequently. The system is setup in such a strange way that even the GeForece graphics card cant cope with the system requirements whilst running 2 screens.

Trying to open new webpages in Google Chrome,Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer has an enormous amount of lag eventhough other systems connected to the same network run without a hitch

When opening programs or the control panel or its items, it takes several seconds (about 20seconds) and you just see what I now call the Blue Circle of Death as this stupid system is trying to think.

The microphone keeps bombing out.

At the moment, I have Yahoo Messenger and Google Chrome open with very few processes open. But my CPU usage is at 100%. Ridiculous

I paid alot for this to watch movies on Blu Ray. But the battery life is so poor even at LOW battery usage settings that you cant watch a full movie!

Will never ever ever buy an Acer again! Never!

Nice and fast but noisy, low batterytime. batterytime 30 min (after 9 months mostly on AC). Max when it was new was 90 min video watching. Acer only give 6 moths of guarantee here in Sweden. Fan starts often, even when idle. Critical viewing angle although good when sitting right.
My wife likes to work with it but i like my HP 6710b much better (my work PC). It has better batterylife, sturdier, less glare in screen and are much more silent. But of course hasn´t that dedicated graphics card.
I was wrong when buying this. I thought it featured Centrino2 but it didn´t. Apparently there...

Its a good laptop well built,the only problem is the support from acer, its none existant? if you want to update your drivers theres no problems all drivers 64bit and 32bit are there on the acer web site ive just put windows 7 64bit on my aspire7730 and had no problems...

this is a very very good laptop. you dont here much about acer laptops but when you get one you are amazed how good they are. if i had to tak it back i wouldnt. it is fast. so my opinion is to get an acer aspire 7730. it will inpress you....
