The editors liked

  • A terrific game that perfectly recaptures the spirit of Diablo and improves upon it in many ways.
  • Colorful visuals
  • Plenty of content
  • Great music
  • Useful pet companion.
  • Great use of the standard action RPG formula
  • Atmospheric dungeons
  • Good monster variety
  • Fantastic musical score
  • Outstanding loot drops.
  • Wonderful Design
  • The pet is brilliant
  • Combat is fun to do and to see
  • Solid performance
  • Good graphics
  • Good replay value
  • Competent story
  • And outstanding game engine make this RPG as accessible as an arcade game. ESRB rating
  • Teen.
  • Diablo styled gameplay with some welcome additions.

The editors didn't like

  • If you don't dig the lootgrind of actionRPGs
  • You're going to get bored pretty quickly with its flimsy storyline.
  • No multiplayer
  • Occasional glitches like getting stuck in the environment.
  • Does very little that's new.
  • It may be too bright for the Diablo diehards
  • Lacks a coop multiplayer game mode. Critical item could not be accessed during testing.
  • No online multiplayer in this version.

  • Solid performance, good graphics, great music, good replay value, competent story, and outstanding game engine make this RPG as accessible as an arcade game. ESRB rating: Teen.
  • Lacks a coop multiplayer game mode. Critical item could not be accessed during testing.
  • Torchlight’s appeal is easy to grasp. Players can jump in and out with no need to find a save point--just launch Steam and pick up from exactly where you left off. Namely, battling evil while your dog trots back to town carrying 78 pounds of treasure....
