The editors liked

  • It's a little bigger than its predecessor
  • But the Capsule II is still easily portable and has a brighter lamp
  • Android TV 9.0 is a major step up from the heavily-modified Android builds that previous Anker projectors used
  • The Capsule now uses USB Type-C
  • Runs Android TV natively
  • Battery lasts nearly three hours
  • Speaker is built in and gets plenty loud

The editors didn't like

  • Flipping through the home screen and streaming movies works great
  • But gaming isn't the Capsule's strong suit
  • Netflix isn't available from the Play Store
  • But you can still sideload the phone app
  • The Capsule II is by far the most expensive pico projecto
  • No Netflix or Amazon Prime without weird hacks
  • A little pricey for what it does
  • No easy way to save video on device (and not enough storage do it anyway)

  • Abstract:  You can argue about Apple's use of the term 'entry-level' for a laptop that has a starting price of £1299/$1299, but this new 13-inch model is certainly better value for money than its Touch Bar-less predecessor. It provides a major increase in performanc...

  • Abstract:  Anker has cooked up something pretty weird with the Nebula Capsule II. It combines a lot of different things, for better or worse, into a pint-sized package. At its core, the Nebula Capsule II is a portable projector. You can connect video devices to it...

  • Abstract:  Projection can be an irritation for regular business presenters. When it works well, it's a dream, but too often, hiccups and glitches get in the way. As a result, some people prefer to carry their own equipment rather than rely on what they might find at...

  • Maybe. The Nebula Capsule II is the best portable projector I've ever used, hands down. While it's not as bright as Anker's own Mars II, it's much more portable, and the Android TV software with Google Assistant and Chromecast support is fantastic. I didn...

  • Great design, Android TV built-in, Full-size HDMI port
  • Expensive, Could be brighter, Netflix must be sideloaded
  • A 100-inch screen projected out of a device that's shaped like a beer can? It's hard not to fall in love. Though in an ideal world battery life, projected brightness and resolution would be stronger, they're minor quibbles against what's achieved here. Fo...
